Shakespeare’s Stratford

The three photos in my recent Blogs were taken during our recent trip to Stratford-on-Avon. We stayed at the lovely old Falcon Hotel and I took the photo of Shakespeare’s school from the corner of the street by the hotel. The photo of Shakespeare’s Birthplace is unusual because pictures usually show it from the other end. Actually there was some work being done at the other end so I took my photo from the left instead of from the right and was rather pleased how it turned out.
I took the photo of Nash House through the window of our room at the hotel. Nash house was the home of Shakespeare’s Granddaughter, Elizabeth. It was next door to Shakespeare’s own house, New Place, which has since been demolished. There was excavation work going on in the garden where New Place once stood as archaeologists were hoping to find out exactly where the foundations had been. I took a photo of that too and will post it on a later Blog.
