True to Type

Many years ago a friend gave me a little book called “True to Type” by Denys Parsons. It is full of mistakes and misprints from various publications. I have enjoyed reading it many times and would like to share some extracts with you.

Advertisement:- For Sale. Cottage piano made in Berlin, owner getting grand.

Review of concert:-An item which was deservedly appreciated and encored was Chopin’s Pollonaise “Sea Miner”

Printing error:- All the bridesmaids wore red noses

Police report:- Nude man, who admits brandishing a pistol, is charged with carrying concealed weapon.

From a short story:- The thing that first caught my eye was a large silver cup that Charles had won for skating on the mantelpiece.

From a letter:- In conclusion, Sir, I enclose my card and remains. Yours truly etc
